Many people use CBD to combat their feelings of stress and anxiety; and many more people use CBD to alleviate their symptoms of physical pain as well as inflammation from strenuous activity or severe injury. But what about CBD for healing wounds?

CBD For Healing Wounds

A recent article from projectcbd.org gives us further insight to the wonders of CBD healing–more specifically, using CBD for healing wounds. Until becoming a life-threatening issue for her brother, Mary Biles, the author of the article in question, “Topical Cannabis for Leg Ulcers,” had never thought much about the severity of leg ulcers–or the lack of successful healing processes found to treat such ailments. In a series of preliminary experiments to study new ways of treating leg ulcers, Dr. Vincent Maida found some success with the use of topical cannabis. Two elderly patients within the experiment, both of whom suffered serious cases of leg ulcers for over a period of six months, found that, with Dr. Maida’s treatment, their wounds had completely closed within 73 days. In addition to total wound closure from Dr. Maida’s cannabis-based topical treatment, “… the patients’ pain was significantly reduced so that by day 63 no other analgesics were required” (Biles, 2021, pg. 1). Though we emphasize that taking your CBD oil sublingually will always be the most therapeutic method for consuming CBD, we recognize that Dr. Maida’s findings in using a cannabis-based remedy for wound management offers a significant argument for the benefits of topical CBD application. Topical CBD products can be just as effective in both pain and healthy skin management–because everyone’s needs are different, even yours. But it isn’t just the active cannabinoids (CBD, CBDa, THC, etc.) within your extract that could be making the difference in your healing process. Based on Dr. Maida’s research, we know that the terpenes and flavonoids present within a full spectrum CBD product play a large role in wound recovery: specifically, beta-caryophyllene–which is by far the most prevalent terpene in our very own Genesis Blend extracts! Because of Dr. Maida’s conclusions, we can guarantee to our customers that they’re receiving the full potential benefits for healing wounds because our products are full spectrum. In order for a product to truly be “full spectrum,” all of the original cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids present in the plant at harvest time must still be present in the finished product–even after undergoing the extraction method that turns the original plant into a liquidized extract. When a product is, indeed, full spectrum, consumers are reaping the full benefits that this versatile and therapeutic plant has to offer. Many products on the market, however, are not full spectrum. CBD isolates and broad spectrum CBD products on the market do not offer the same therapeutic results that we do–a notion that is further proved by Dr. Maida’s findings.

Our Genesis Blend CBD For Healing Wounds

We take pride in having an extensive knowledge of what exactly we put in our extracts–so, with us, you know you can trust the product you’ve purchased. Our extracts are a precise blend of our bloom-crafted, full spectrum CBD extract and a USP MCT Oil (from coconut.) A well known anti-inflammatory agent that promotes anti-oxidant defenses, coconut oil also provides anti-microbial properties to help with the production of collagen and even work to avoid infection. Proven in its natural, golden color, our Genesis Blend Hemp Extracts are harvested from our Kentucky farm’s bloom-only cannabis sativa and converted into an extract through a gentle, hydrocarbon extraction process that safeguards all of the original ingredients. This extraction method allows us to develop a product that is truly full spectrum, keeping all of the added benefits of the natural terpenes, flavonoids, and cannabinoids that were present in the original sativa bloom. Naturally present in our CBD oil, myrcene, pinene, and beta-caryophyllene are just a few of the terpenes kept in our products to help promote sleep, treat anxiety, and combat pain and inflammation. If you have a new or recurring wound giving you trouble–and you think you’ve tried everything–take a chance on our Genesis Blend Hemp Extract. While sublingually consuming one of our hemp extracts could potentially speed up your healing process from the inside out, using our full spectrum oil topically could also offer additional healing benefits. And though we advise against using it on broken skin, our Calming Balm could also be your saving grace when it comes to healthy skin. Acting as a protective skin barrier, our Calming Balm works to guard and heal your skin from sunburns, eczema, poison ivy, bug bites, dry skin, psoriasis, and even diaper rash! Made with castor oil, hydrogenated castor oil, beeswax, carnauba wax, lavender oil, lemongrass oil, and our full spectrum CBD extract, this revolutionary product could help replenish your skin after you’ve done the work to heal your wound.
